Left Virginia yesterday, on my way to California to hang out with family before my orientation. My parents and I woke up at 3:30am. I proceeded to break a handle off of my carryon and then had to do some shuffling between checked bags to avoid crazy bag fees. My parents got gate passes so they could sit with me until I boarded. By the time we got in the air I was pretty hungry, so I ended up getting one of the snack boxes, consisting of crackers, hummus, a tomato spread, olives, dried fruit, and lemon cookies. It really hit the spot; I wasn’t hungry again for 8 hours.
I’m currently in Rio Linda, California, staying with my Uncle Mark and Aunt Deb. My Aunt Jerri is picking me up today and I’ll be spending the next 6 days in the mountains. Last night I had the best sleep I’ve had in about a week.
